Deamidated Gliadin Peptide IgG CLIA Kit

Description

This Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (CLIA) kit is intended for the quantitative determination of human Deamidated Gliadin Peptide, IgG (DGP-IgG) levels in serum using the ECL100 or ECL25 Immunoassay analyzer. The test is used as an aid in the diagnosis of celiac disease.

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostics procedures.

Background

Deamidated gliadin peptide, DGP, is a modified form of gliadin, a protein found in foods containing gluten. In cases of celiac disease, the body produces immune system responses against these proteins, which harm the villi in the small intestine1. As the villi are damaged by these responses, their ability to aid in the absorption of nutrients decreases, which leads to symptoms including malnutrition and gastrointestinal issues2.

DGP-IgG is an antibody that can be produced as a reaction to the presence of gluten, and the measurement of the concentration of this antibody in the blood is used in the diagnosis of celiac disease. DGP-IgG tests offer high levels of specificity and sensitivity, and are especially useful in patients who have IgA deficiency3.
