The SELF-SURE™ Faecal Occult Blood (FOB) test is a rapid, one
step lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of the
occult (hidden) blood in faeces to aid in the detection of
gastrointestinal bleeding, found in a number of gastro-intestinal
disorders, e.g., diverticulitis, colitis, polyps and colorectal cancer.
The test utilizes a combination of two monoclonal antibodies to
selectively detect human hemoglobin. The test result is interpreted
from colored lines.
This product is marketed over-the-counter (OTC) in pharmacies and drugstores etc. in Europe. It is CE certified for at-home use by consumers.
